Baseball Recap: Lincoln East Takes Down Ranked Skutt Catholic

Lincoln East faced Skutt Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Spartans blew past the SkyHawks 10-4. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Spartans also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Joey Senstock made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Carter McPeak was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Troy Peltz was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Lincoln East was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Skutt Catholic only posted a batting average of .286.

Lincoln East is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Skutt Catholic, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-4.
