Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Kinley Huotari and Amelia Nichols Lead Franklin Central to Victory

Franklin Central extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Emily Williams. The Flashes walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Beech Grove Hornets on Saturday with plenty of help from Williams, who had nine aces and five assists. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Franklin Central was: they took both sets by at least 15 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-8.

Franklin Central was led to victory by Amelia Nichols and Kinley Huotari. Nichols had 17 assists, while Huotari had. What's more, Huotari posted two digs, the most she's had since back in October of 2024.

Franklin Central was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in three consecutive contests.

Franklin Central's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Beech Grove, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Franklin Central and Beech Grove will both be playing Martinsville the next time they take the court. The Hornets will host the Artesians at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Flashes will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
