Basketball Recap: Noah Tafoya's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Southwest Florida Christian over Evangelical Christian

Southwest Florida Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Evangelical Christian Sentinels, falling 69-49. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the King's this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-56 back in November of 2024.

Several King's players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Noah Tafoya, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 16 points. The dominant performance gave Tafoya a new career-high in points. Reilly Link also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steals of the season.

Evangelical Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Quez Outten out in front who went 6 for 13 en route to 17 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals. Another player making a difference was Drew Irwin, who went 9 of 16 on his way to 20 points along with five boards and three steals.

Southwest Florida Christian now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Evangelical Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season.

Southwest Florida Christian has already played their next game, a 52-45 defeat against Neumann on the 24th. As for Evangelical Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 65-62 loss against Canterbury on the 24th.
