Basketball Game Preview: McConnellsburg Spartans vs. Fort Hill Sentinels

The McConnellsburg Spartans will face off against the Fort Hill Sentinels at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. McConnellsburg is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 18 games.

McConnellsburg is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Southern Fulton: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that McConnellsburg blew Southern Fulton out of the water with a 54-19 final score. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 games by 20 points or more this season.

McConnellsburg found their leader in sophomore Hoyt Glenn, who posted 12 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Glenn has been hot, having posted five or more steals the last five times he's played. Brayden Ramsey was another key player, putting up 14 points and four steals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fort Hill). They breezed by Northern Garrett to the tune of 82-40 on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Sentinels in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won nine in a row.

McConnellsburg pushed their record up to 19-1 with the win, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Fort Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
