Beaver Dam had lost three games at home, but after bumping their record up to 11-8 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Monona Grove Silver Eagles, sneaking past 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Golden Beavers have posted since April 22nd.

Beaver Dam's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kendall Fakes, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Monona Grove, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured nine losses in a row.

On Monona Grove's side, Cathryn Zegadlo was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyra Killebrew, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beaver Dam will challenge Wisconsin Lutheran at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Golden Beavers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Monona Grove, they will take on Vel Phillips Memorial at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Silver Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
