Baseball Game Preview: Triton Trojans vs. Knox Redskins

The Triton Trojans are taking a road trip to take on the Knox Redskins at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Triton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.

Triton will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating LaVille, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Trojans never let the Lancers get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

The result came thanks to Drew Bingamon's shutout, as he gave up just two hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Triton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braxton Kaufman, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Kaufman has posted over his last 11 contests.

Meanwhile, Knox fell victim to LaVille and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancers. Considering the last time the Redskins couldn't score was back in April, the team can't take the result too hard.

Triton's win bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Knox, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-11.

Everything went Triton's way against Knox when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Triton made off with a 20-10 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
