Makenzy McCoy leads a balanced attack to beat Maysville

The New Lexington Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They strolled past Maysville with points to spare, taking the game 70-52. Given New Lexington's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Maysville is ranked 507th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

New Lexington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Makenzy McCoy, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 3 assists. Those 30 points set a new season-high mark for her. Chloe Dick was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds.

The victory makes it two in a row for New Lexington and bumps their season record up to 8-6. As for Maysville, they bumped their record down to 4-7 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

New Lexington will take on Tri-Valley at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Maysville, they will head out on the road to face off against Meadowbrook at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday.
