Basketball Recap: Ramah Comes Up Short

Ramah extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-4. They took a 52-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Native American Community Academy/Evangel Christian Academy Eagles. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Native American Community Academy/Evangel Christian Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Native American Community Academy/Evangel Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alex Twins led the charge by putting up 12 points and six steals. Twins has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Lex Largo, who posted 12 points and five steals.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ramah will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Quemado at 7:30 p.m. on the 19th. As for Native American Community Academy/Evangel Christian Academy, they will welcome Tse' Yi' Gai at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
