Basketball Recap: Clearfield Falcons vs. Bonneville Lakers
Clearfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-51 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bonneville Lakers. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lakers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bonneville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bryson Landis, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. Landis has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Davis Degroot, who went 5 of 10 en route to 17 points.
Clearfield's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Bonneville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.
Clearfield will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Woods Cross at 7:00 p.m. Woods Cross is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.4 points per game this season. As for Bonneville, they will head out to challenge Roy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Roy also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 51.6 points per game.
