Softball Recap: Central City Value Comes Up Short

After flying high against Orthopaedic on Wednesday, Central City Value came back down to earth. The Jaguars came up short against the USC-MAE Trojans on Monday, falling 28-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-4 back in April.

Mercedes Ponce and Emily Fernandez stepped up to the plate in a big way. Ponce went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Fernandez got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

With the loss, Central City Value broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-3. As for USC-MAE, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Central City Value has already played their next game, a 17-5 win against Downtown Magnets on the 13th. As for USC-MAE, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 22-3 victory against Animo Bunche on the 13th.
