Basketball Game Preview: Alameda Pirates vs. Platte Canyon Huskies

The Alameda Pirates will challenge the Platte Canyon Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Alameda is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 56 points two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Englewood last Tuesday. They were outmatched by the Pirates and fell 68-30.

Meanwhile, Platte Canyon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 66-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of The Pinnacle.

Alameda dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Platte Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Everything came up roses for Alameda against Platte Canyon in their previous matchup back in November of 2017, as the team secured a 62-28 victory. In that match, Alameda amassed a halftime lead of 38-16, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
