After a string of three wins, Wellington's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grace Christian Academy Lions. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Brett Hobbs made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Wellington's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Grace Christian Academy, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6.
