Recap: Parchment Panthers vs. Constantine Falcons
The Parchment Panthers fell victim to the Constantine Falcons''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Falcons, falling 46-0. Parchment has struggled against Constantine recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Jalen Kampen threw for 58 yards on seven of 19 attempts. Jaden Taylor was his top target, picking up 34 receiving yards and no touchdowns.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Constantine to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rushawn James, who rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Bennett Vandenberg, who rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Parchment to a paltry 52 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Constantine's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Josh Outlaw and his two sacks.
Parchment has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Constantine, the win was the seventh in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Parchment does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Constantine will be playing at home against Olivet at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Olivet will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 339th, while Constantine is ranked 81st).
