Oakland came tearing into Saturday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They beat the Saraland Spartans by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-4 on Saturday.

Oakland saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jada Ellison, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Oakland's victory bumped their record up to 17-3-2. As for Saraland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 23-11-1.

Oakland didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-2 defeat against Orange Beach on the 19th. As for Saraland, they will welcome Baldwin County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 2.7, the Tigers 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
