Basketball Recap: Goleman's Run of Five Straight Victories Now Over

After a string of five wins, Goleman's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 39-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Miami Beach Chargers. The Gators were probably out for revenge after losing 31-26 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Goleman's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jasmin Brown, who posted eight points along with seven boards and six steals, and Akayla Edwards, who had nine points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. Brown has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Camilia D'Lassalas, who put up three points and three steals.

North Miami Beach's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Laila Henderson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 15 boards. Another player making a difference was Serena Volcy, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards.
