The Asheboro Blue Comets will challenge the Northeast Guilford Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Asheboro is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 30.9 points per game this season.

Asheboro took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They secured a 37-33 W over Eastern Guilford. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Blue Comets considering their three-point performance the game before.

Dallas Brinton produced another solid effort rushing for 133 yards and three touchdowns. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Connor Brinton, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Northeast Guilford got the win against Southeast Guilford on Friday by a conclusive 28-7. Considering the Rams have won four matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Northeast Guilford didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jacen Hester and Jeremiah Deese. Deese also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 15. Suleiman Solongo was another major factor on D, picking up two sacks and making 12 total tackles (5.0 for loss).

Northeast Guilford's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Asheboro, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-2.
