Volleyball Recap: Petersburg Takes a Loss

Petersburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Colonial Heights Colonials. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Colonials this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-8, 25-4.

Madison Schane was nothing short of spectacular for Colonial Heights: she had 12 aces and one assist. Those 12 aces gave Schane a new career-high. Joy He also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Petersburg's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Colonial Heights, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season.

Petersburg will square off against Highland Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Colonial Heights, they will face off against Nottoway at 5:45 p.m. on Monday.
