Softball Recap: North Point Eagles vs. Suitland Rams

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but North Point had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They never let the Suitland Rams onto the board and left with a 26-0 win. North Point's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Alyssa Blaney made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 15 over five innings pitched. Blaney has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in five consecutive pitching appearances. Blaney was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Ari Mitchell and Morgan Dow did most of the damage at the plate: Mitchell scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Dow went 4-for-4 with a home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Emily Yanick, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3.
