Football Recap: Severna Park Extends Winning Streak to Five

Severna Park hadn't done well against Arundel recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Falcons walked away with a 22-14 win over the Wildcats. The victory was familiar territory for the Falcons, who have now won five games in a row.

Severna Park's defense made their presence known, laying out Naseem Tention three times. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Noah Croghan. He also forced onefumble, which is notable because Severna Park is undefeated when he posts at least one forced fumble, but 1-2 otherwise.

Despite the loss, Arundel still got an impressive performance from Tention, who rushed for 130 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 110 yards on 13 of 19 attempts.

Severna Park's record now sits at 5-2. As for Arundel, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Severna Park will square off against North County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will be up against the Knights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41.29 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Arundel, they will face off against Crofton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
