Basketball Recap: Pine Hills Adventist Starts Season with Win Against Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning

Pine Hills Adventist gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 51-37 win over the Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning Fire Wolves. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2024.

Pine Hills Adventist found their leader in freshman Carter Gatling, who went 7-for-14 on his way to 16 points along with six assists and five boards. Tyler Gatling was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to six steals and five rebounds.

Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pine Hills Adventist and Victory Christian will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest, having both just played. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Vikings have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning, they will square off against Adventure Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
