Basketball Recap: Bel Air Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Bel Air lost against Americas back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bel Air Highlanders took a 48-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Americas Trail Blazers. While losing is never fun, the Highlanders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while the Trail Blazers are ranked 72nd).

When it comes to explaining why Bel Air lost, don't look at Alyssa Saldana. Despite the final result, she went 6 of 8 en route to 17 points and six rebounds.

Bel Air's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-10. As for Americas, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 24-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bel Air will square off against Deming at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Americas, they will face off against Horizon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Horizon has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with ten straight defeats, while Americas will come in with seven straight wins.
