Basketball Recap: Campbell County Comes Up Short

After soaring to 55 points the game before, Campbell County was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They were outmatched by the Oak Ridge Wildcats and fell 76-30. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 35th).

Campbell County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keegan Nelson, who posted six points.

Campbell County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Oak Ridge, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3.

Campbell County will face off against Karns at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Campbell County is facing Karns at the right time seeing as Karns is stuck on a 14-game losing streak. As for Oak Ridge, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-40 win against Powell on the 16th.
