Softball Recap: Madeira Snails vs. Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers

Madeira gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 14-13 win over the Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers. Both teams can probably skip cardio this week after making that many trips around the bases.

For Georgetown Day's part, Ella Lynn was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Avery Snyder, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Georgetown Day now has a losing record at 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madeira will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on St. Andrew's Episcopal at 4:15 p.m. on April 26th. As for Georgetown Day, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bullis at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
