Softball Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 5-2 to the Edgewood-Colesburg Vikings. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in June of 2024.

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Edgewood-Colesburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That somehow still isn't as good as their 17-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Independence will head out to face off against West Delaware at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Edgewood-Colesburg, they will square off against Easton Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
