Volleyball Recap: Western Alamance Has No Trouble Against Mcmichael

Western Alamance had won three straight at home, but on Wednesday they bumped up to 9-2 to make it four. They put the hurt on the McMichael Phoenix with a sharp 3-0 win. The Warriors were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Phoenix, so the Warriors were just returning the favor.

Western Alamance can attribute much of their success to Paityn Kehoe, who had 16 digs. Those 16 digs gave Kehoe a new career-high.

Western Alamance was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in four consecutive contests.

As for McMichael, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered against Western Alamance since October 3, 2017.

Despite the loss, McMichael still got an impressive performance from Emily Smith, who had 11 digs and three assists. Charlie Tuggle also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Western Alamance wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Williams on the 11th. As for McMichael, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 win against North Stanly on the 13th.
