Basketball Recap: Nevaeh Dobson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Wallace-Rose Hill over Kinston

Wallace-Rose Hill lost against Kinston back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs took a 54-40 bruising from the Kinston Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 411th, while the Vikings are ranked 102nd).

Wallace-Rose Hill's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nevaeh Dobson, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 12 rebounds. With that strong performance, Dobson is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game. Jansley Page was another key player, putting up six points and 20 rebounds.

Wallace-Rose Hill's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Kinston, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 18-2.

Coming up, Wallace-Rose Hill will challenge East Duplin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East Duplin will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Wallace-Rose Hill surely won't give up without a fight. As for Kinston, they have already played their next game, a 54-23 loss against New Hanover on the 8th.
