Basketball Recap: Cameron Hayes-Durina Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Piscataway Vo-Tech

Metuchen won the last time they faced Piscataway Vo-Tech and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Metuchen Bulldogs walked away with a 55-42 victory over the Piscataway Vo-Tech Raiders. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Metuchen's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cameron Hayes-Durina led the charge by going 6 for 11 to rack up 16 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. Colin Gawronski was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.

Metuchen smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Metuchen's win bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Piscataway Vo-Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-5.

Looking ahead, Metuchen will head out on the road to take on Sayreville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Metuchen is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.5 points per game this season. Piscataway Vo-Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
