Football Recap: Greer Falls Short of Camden in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Greer can now relate to. They received a blow on Friday as they fell 38-20 to the Camden Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Yellow Jackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 27th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Camden to victory, but perhaps none more so than Navier Boykin, who rushed for 126 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Boykin has become a key player for the Bulldogs: the team is 7-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise. Isaiah Smith helped out on the ground, rushing for 93 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Greer is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7. As for Camden, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Greer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Camden, they have already played their next game, a 52-14 victory against Daniel on the 14th.
