Softball Game Preview: Arlington Eagles vs. Jackson Timberwolves

Arlington hasn't had much luck against Jackson recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Arlington will head out to challenge Jackson at 4:00 p.m.

While Arlington is heading in to the match without a win, things might be looking up considering their last contest was the closest they've come to getting one. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Kamiak. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered since April 19, 2024.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jackson). Everything went their way against Meadowdale on Wednesday as Jackson made off with a 9-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Timberwolves.

Kiana Holden (2025) was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Aliana Langsea (2028), who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.

Jackson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Meadowdale only posted a batting average of .167.

Jackson's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Arlington, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Arlington might still be hurting after the 15-0 defeat they got from Jackson in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Arlington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
