Hawthorne Math & Science Academy hasn't had much luck against Rolling Hills Prep recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Hawthorne Math & Science Academy Aviators will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rolling Hills Prep Huskies at 3:15 p.m. Hawthorne Math & Science Academy has given up an average of 9.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Gabriel Ortiz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rolling Hills Prep). They put the hurt on Animo Leadership with a sharp 18-3 victory on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for the Huskies as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Isaac Sarner and Matthew Moyer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Sarner struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. Meanwhile, Moyer didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. The dominant performance gave Sarner a new career-high in strikeouts. At the plate, Sarner went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Moyer scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Alex Hernandez was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with five RBI and three runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Levin, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-3.
Hawthorne Math & Science Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-2-1. As for Rolling Hills Prep, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3-1.
Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Hawthorne Math & Science Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .500. However, it's not like Rolling Hills Prep struggles in that department as they've averaged .464. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
