Baseball Recap: Grantsville's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Grantsville dropped their record down to 10-9 on Thursday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Morgan Trojans by a score of 5-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 on Tuesday.

Cooper Castagno was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple.

As for Morgan, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games.

On Morgan's side, they saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lincoln Gilson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. Another was Kanyon Leonelli, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grantsville will take on Ridgeline at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Riverhawks will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Cowboys surely won't give up without a fight. As for Morgan, they will challenge Uintah at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will need to watch out since the Utes have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
