Football Game Recap: Northampton/Hopkins Academy vs. West Springfield

After having lost a blowout in their match last week, Northampton/Hopkins Academy were happy to find some success on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past West Springfield 9-6. West Springfield can consider this payback for the 0-49 defeat they dealt Northampton/Hopkins Academy the last time the teams encountered one another.

Northampton/Hopkins Academy got off to a sluggish start, posting six total points in the first half. West Springfield matched them to leave it all tied up at 6-6. The other side of the ball continued to do well for Northampton/Hopkins Academy in the second half and held West Springfield to 0 points. The win bumped Northampton/Hopkins Academy's record up to 3-2. The loss dropped West Springfield's record to 1-4.

Next week Northampton/Hopkins Academy take on Wahconah Regional at 6:00 PM. Neither Northampton/Hopkins Academy nor Wahconah Regional could muster much offensive firepower in their last games, so look to the defense to decide this one. As for West Springfield, they will face off against Minnechaug Regional.
