Softball Game Preview: Halifax County Comets vs. Rustburg Red Devils

For the second straight game, Halifax County will face off against Rustburg. The Comets will welcome the Red Devils at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Halifax County proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 14) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Rustburg 5-4.

For Rustburg's part, Cayden Miller made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That run was Miller's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Paiten Archer, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Rustburg is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-4. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only two runs. As for Halifax County, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
