Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Harrells Christian Academy

Harrells Christian Academy extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 3-1. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 64-61 victory over the Westover Wolverines. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Crusaders have posted since December 21, 2024.

Antonio McKoy produced another solid effort dropping a double-double with 36 points and 13 rebounds. His afternoon made it 24 games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Dashaun McKoy was another key player, putting up 11 points and six boards.

As for Westover, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (59), they still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Westover lost, don't look at Demarious Hall. Despite the final result, he went 6-for-15 to rack up 18 points. Hall has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Za'Veon Porter, who shot 50% from the field en route to 11 points.

Harrells Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 74-55 victory against Northwood Temple Academy on the 1st. As for Westover, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 80-71 win against Union Pines on the 2nd.
