Baseball Preview: Mifflin County Huskies vs. Bald Eagle Area Eagles
The Mifflin County Huskies will head out to square off against the Bald Eagle Area Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mifflin County's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Bald Eagle Area's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Mifflin County proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 13) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past Chambersburg 3-2. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Bald Eagle Area made sure to put some runs up on the board against Bishop Carroll on Tuesday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Huskies. Considering the Eagles' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Brayden Dubbs was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Cessna, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.
Bald Eagle Area was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .478. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop Carroll only posted a batting average of .273.
Mifflin County's record is now 6-4. As for Bald Eagle Area, they moved to 4-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
