Softball Game Preview: Texas Tigers vs. Melissa Cardinals

For the second straight game, Texas will face off against Melissa. The Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Texas heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Wednesday. They came up short against Melissa, falling 13-1. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Melissa's part, Eloisa Maes looked comfortable as she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Maes has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Caigan Crabtree was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Bradley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three runs.

The win keeps Melissa at an undefeated 30-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Texas, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-9-1.
