Softball Recap: Penn Cambria Takes a Loss

If Penn Cambria was riding high fresh off their 15-5 takedown of Portage last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers lost 16-6 to the Westmont Hilltop Hilltoppers on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hilltoppers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-3 last Saturday.

Autumn Yeoman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Sophia Rabatin, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Penn Cambria's record is now 2-6. As for Westmont Hilltop, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Penn Cambria will head out to take on Cambria Heights at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westmont Hilltop, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bishop McCort at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hilltoppers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Crushers have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season.
