Soccer Game Preview: Seward vs. Crete

Seward hasn't had much luck against Crete recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bluejays will challenge the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. Seward will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Seward will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Lincoln Lutheran/Raymond Central/Parkview Christian, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Bluejays came out on top against Lincoln Lutheran/Raymond Central/Parkview Christian by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. Three seems to be a good number for Seward as the team scooped up a win with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Crete fell victim to Skutt Catholic and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the SkyHawks, falling 6-0. Crete have struggled against Skutt Catholic recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Crete's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Seward, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Seward couldn't quite get it done against Crete in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 as they fell 2-0. Can the Bluejays avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
