Volleyball Game Preview: St. Joseph Academy Crusaders vs. Calipatria Hornets + Official Tickets

The St. Joseph Academy Crusaders will square off against the Calipatria Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

St. Joseph Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Julian. The win was some much needed relief for the Crusaders as it spelled an end to their six-match losing streak.

St. Joseph Academy relied on the efforts of Adley Fontaine, who had five aces and three digs, and Avery Fontaine, who had 18 digs. Those 18 digs gave Avery a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: St. Joseph Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Calipatria got the win against River Valley on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0.

Calipatria's victory bumped their record up to 16-13. As for St. Joseph Academy, their win bumped their record up to 10-22.

St. Joseph Academy beat Calipatria 2-0 when the teams last played back in September of 2021. Do the Crusaders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
