Volleyball Recap: Corning Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Corning lost against Colusa back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cardinals came up short against the RedHawks, falling 3-0. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Corning was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-23, 25-13.

Rylee Henry paced Corning's offense, picking up three kills. Henry got some help from Alexis Jimenez and her two assists. Jimenez was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Colusa can attribute much of their success to Marlie Berry, who had seven digs and three aces. That's the most aces Berry has posted over her last three contests. Maci Garofalo also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

Corning's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Colusa, their record is now 7-2.

Coming up, Corning will head out on the road to square off against Anderson at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Colusa, they will welcome Marysville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
