Baseball Recap: Caney Extends Winning Streak to Four

Caney extended their winning streak to four on Monday, bumping their season record up to 18-15 in the process. They put the hurt on the Talihina Golden Tigers with a sharp 10-2 win. Considering the Cougars have won 16 matchups by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

As for Talihina, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Talihina's part, Cy Ammons put in work while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the fewest hits Ammons has allowed since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Ammons wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nakaiah King, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Caney does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Talihina, they are taking a road trip to challenge Rattan at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Golden Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
