Softball Recap: Santa Cruz Valley Takes a Loss

Santa Cruz Valley lost against Heritage Academy last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Dust Devils lost 8-1 to the Heroes. The Dust Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Santa Cruz Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mionette Banda, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Santa Cruz Valley's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Heritage Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season.

Santa Cruz Valley will square off against Tombstone at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Dust Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for Heritage Academy, they will take on Phoenix Country Day at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
