It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Shawnee had no problem doing just that on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Blanchester Wildcats as they made off with a 10-0 victory. The Braves' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last six contests.
Shawnee got a great performance from Alee Trimmer as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Trimmer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 17 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Lily Wilson was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Maura Simpson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Shawnee hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in 15 consecutive matchups.
Shawnee's record now sits at 24-3. As for Blanchester, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-11.
