Volleyball Recap: Burlington Comes Up Short

Burlington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Winchester Red & Black, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red & Black this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in April.

Burlington was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-19, 25-14.

Daksh Shah paced Burlington's offense, picking up eight kills. Shah got some help from Ashneel Ejenkar and his 13 assists. Rohit Vijay controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Burlington's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Winchester, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2.

Looking ahead, Burlington will take on Wakefield Memorial at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The Red Devils are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Winchester, they will challenge Lexington at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The Minutemen will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something the Red & Black surely won't give up without a fight.
