Football Recap: Juab Starts Season with Win Against Delta

Juab took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They blew past the Delta Rabbits 40-0. The Wasps haven't had any issues with the Rabbits recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Price Armstrong was the offensive standout of the matchup as he threw for 230 yards and three TDs. What's more, he racked up 79.6 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August of 2024.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Juab proved: they limited Delta to a paltry 3.3 yards per carry. While one picked up at least six total tackles, Wyatt Downard stood above the rest. He picked up four sacks, forced one fumble, and made six total tackles. Juab didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.1.

Juab's defense also made the game a nightmare for Bodey Shurtz., racking up eight sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Downard and Scott McCollum, who racked up seven sacks between them.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Juab is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Payson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 913 yards in their previous games. As for Delta, they will head out on the road to challenge Millard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
