Basketball Recap: Carlson Gets the Win

If Roosevelt wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Carlson, they should've done a better job of containing Matt MacBride. The Carlson Marauders walked away with a 54-41 win over the Roosevelt Bears on Saturday thanks in part to MacBride, who posted 21 points and six boards. Those 21 points gave him a new career-high.

Another player making a difference was Austin Saavedra, who had seven points and six rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last seven games he's played.

Carlson's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Roosevelt, they dropped their record down to 0-18 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Carlson will face off against Flat Rock at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Flat Rock will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Carlson surely won't give up without a fight. As for Roosevelt, they will take on Woodhaven at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
