Softball Recap: Glenn Gets the Win

Glenn took a 17-run defeat the last time they faced off against Bremen, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Falcons narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Lions 5-4. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Falcons as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

McKenzie Timm spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Makayla Laskowski, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That double was her first of the season. Payton Thomas was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Glenn's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Bremen, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Glenn will challenge Plymouth at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Bremen, they will venture away from home to challenge South Central at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
