Basketball Recap: Doral Academy Red Rock Comes Up Short

Doral Academy Red Rock lost against Del Sol back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Doral Academy Red Rock Dragons were outmatched by the Del Sol Dragons and fell 73-21. While losing is never fun, Doral Academy Red Rock can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while Del Sol is ranked 16th).

Del Sol found their leader in freshman Sabrina Stewart, who went 10 of 18 on her way to 23 points in addition to eight assists and seven boards. Stewart is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ricana Taylor, who went 7 for 16 on her way to 17 points and seven rebounds.

Doral Academy Red Rock's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Del Sol, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Pahrump Valley the next time they take the court. Doral Academy Red Rock will host Pahrump Valley at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, while Del Sol will head out to face them at 11:45 a.m. on Friday.
