Basketball Game Preview: Creighton Prep Junior Jays vs. North Kansas City Hornets

The Creighton Prep Junior Jays will head out on the road to take on the North Kansas City Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Creighton Prep took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Saturday. They had just enough and edged Lincoln Southeast out 50-48.

Creighton Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Torran Carter-Brown led the charge by putting up 13 points. Carter-Brown is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Trinell Parker, who went 6-for-7 to rack up 14 points.

Meanwhile, North Kansas City came tearing into Friday's game with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 67-61 W against the Blue Jays. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Blue Jays are ranked 57th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Creighton Prep's record is now 13-6. As for North Kansas City, they pushed their record up to 16-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
