Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clinton). Their defense stepped up to hand the Fairfield Central Griffins a 7-0 shutout on Tuesday. Give Clinton's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Their offense was hitting Fairfield Central from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Erin Donley led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Clinton's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-6-1. As for Fairfield Central, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Clinton will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Griffins: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
